Migration Benefits
There are a number of benefits to the migration of the Hyperpool platform to Base chain.
Let's explore the reasons behind this move.
Costs:
Due to the complex nature of transactions on the Hyperpool platform, some users were experiencing significant gas fees to buy, stake, or burn their tokens. This was not only costing them significant amounts of ETH, it was also causing partial transaction failures, which would result in tickets not being allocated, or on occasion the transaction failing entirely to due gas limits.
Moving to Base Chain, which is a 'layer 2' Ethereum network, allows us to take advantage of the significantly lower costs of their network.
Instead of costing $25-50 to make a transaction on ETH mainnet, users would likely be paying between $0.02 and $0.05 per transaction on Base.
Naturally, this instantly improves user experience and allows us to set default gas limits to be much higher, resulting in less failed transactions, without significantly impacting the cost to the end user.
Scalability:
With significantly lower fees, we are able to not only reduce the cost to users, but also the cost of operating the platform behind the scenes.
This means more of the earned revenue can be spent on marketing, content creation, and other elements which will allow us to continue rapid growth.
As it stands, if the Ethereum network were to return to high gas prices in a bull run, Hyperpool users would be paying in excess of $200 in gas fees just to buy or sell small amounts.
This move to Base chain will allow us to keep your favourite features of the platform, while maintaining resistance against increase gas fees that would prevent the average person from participating in the giveaways.
This move also allows us to significantly reduce the cost of tickets to the draw.
Expansion:
By leveraging the low gas fees on Base chain, we are able to add complexity and features to the platform in the future without a detrimental effect on the cost to use the platform.
This puts us in a position where we can focus our attention on the future, rather than just trying to fix the current issues.
